Bake Sale

We are scheduled to have our first fundraising event this coming weekend. October 27 from 1-4 maybe five if we are doing food on sales.

It's a BAKE sale at Once Upon a Child in Stow. Which just happens to be my favorite kids store lol.
There will be lots of great cookies, cupcakes, pies, candy ect. Please stop out and see us for this great cause. If you would like to help out and bake or just sit and sell with me please let me know ASAP.

We are also in the process if planning a spaghetti dinner/ raffle fundraiser for the week before her surgery. We already have a few baskets and donations for that event, but once again if you would like to help with that please let me know.

Thanks for reading!

  1. My son Teagan had a similar surgery when he was 7 months old May 2009. He had Saggital Craniosynostosis. His foremost soft spot closed early. I don't know what support system you have, but here is what you should have. If you haven't already enrolled in Help Me Grow, do it! They are wonderful people that will make sure that during and after surgery, your child will get the help she needs. www.helpmegrow.ohio.gov.

2nd, contact BCMH! They are a gem at picking up the bill after insurance. You do that by contacting your county health department and asking to speak with a BCMH nurse. Tell the nurse you want to apply for BCMH and tell them your story. They will come to you! After you apply, contact the billing office of the person who will be doing the surgery. Tell them you have applied for BCMH and need to know if they need to file any papers to go with it so that the surgery will be approved. See details here:

Next, visit The United Healthcare Children's Foundation. They are a very reputable grant program that can help. http://www.uhccf.org/

My name is Yvone Rice and we are also a 1 income family. The surgery, before insurance was about 50K. We have a 90/10 insurance plan, but that was still 5K for us to pay for. After BCMH and the Grant, we only paid about $13 out of pocket. It can be done with little to no fundraisers if you have the right information. We survived with no fundraisers and only these 3 things. Feel free to contact me if you have more questions. yrrush@gmail.com I got this site from the Stow Once Upon A Child email where they said they are having a fundraiser for you! You can see my son's surgery and pictures on our blog, http://thewildricefamily.blogspot.com/ The surgery was May 19, 2009.

I wish you guys the best of luck!!
